CLC –  Servo drives

CLC servo drives from Nanotec: motor controllers for steppers and BLDCs with EtherCAT, CANopen, and Modbus RTU support.

The CLC series comprises compact open-frame servo drives available in three sizes. The motor controllers support both BLDC and stepper motors (CLC15: BLDC only) and are ideally suited for modern industrial and OEM applications. They are used in robotics, machine tools, and embedded motion control systems.

With multiple fieldbus options including CANopen, EtherCAT, and Modbus RTU, these servo drives offer exceptional connectivity, control, and performance in a space-saving design. Field-Oriented Control (FOC) ensures smooth, efficient, and precise motor operation.

Configuration, tuning, and diagnostics are facilitated by the free Plug & Drive Studio software.

  • Operating voltage: 12 – 57.6 V
  • Rated current: 3 A, 6 A, or 15 A (depending on size)
  • Fieldbuses: CANopen, EtherCAT, Modbus RTU (RS485)
  • I/O: 6 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs, 2 digital outputs
  • Brake output: for controlling an external electric brake (PWM modulated)
  • Feedback: Hall sensors, incremental or SSI encoders; dual-loop control with two feedback channels can be used simultaneously
  • Operating modes (CiA 402): Profile Position, Profile Velocity, Profile Torque, Homing, Interpolated Position, Cyclic Synchronous Modes (CSP/CSV/CST), Clock & Direction
  • Programmable: real-time NanoJ programming language for standalone operation without an external PLC
  • Internal temperature monitoring: for protecting the motor controller
