Nanotec has introduced the latest generation of its PD2 smart servos, combining a NEMA 17 motor, controller/drive and high-resolution absolute encoder in a compact unit. Available in both stepper and BLDC versions, the new PD2 series offers up to 75% higher rated torque and power compared to the previous motor generation. The integrated NanoJ programming environment allows standalone operation, while CANopen, EtherCAT and Modbus RTU simplify integration into existing automation systems. The PD2 series also features field-oriented control (FOC), peak current capability and digital I/Os with push-pull functionality for greater application flexibilty. The stepper versions provide holding torques of up to 80 Ncm, while the BLDC variants deliver rated torques of up to 44 Ncm, rated power of up to 138 W and speeds of up to 3,000 rpm. Real-time touch probe position capture and IP30 or IP65 protection complete the feature set.
